b-Vibe Trio Butt Plug Review

Personal Experience

I have previously used two of the b-Vibe Rimming plugs and really enjoy them. Though they are not prostate massagers, these plugs do a great job to enhance pleasure during foreplay and sex. The novelty of having mechanical stimulation right in one of your most sensitive spots is exhilarating, to say the least. So, I was very excited to get my hands on the b-Vibe Trio and see what it had to offer.

First Impressions

The packaging and charge cable was identical to the other models I have. It was straightforward to get it all pulled out, washed up, and on charge. The first thing I noticed was how small it was compared to the larger b-Vibe Rimming plug. I actually prefer the smaller petite rimming plug and the b-Vibe Trio plug was almost identical to that. The Trio looks and feels like a premium toy and I couldn’t wait to give it a try.

Trying It Out

Once I was able to use it, the b-Vibe Trio was easy to insert and get going. Right away, I realized that the Trio shared the same (and only) flaw, in my opinion: you can only adjust intensity of the vibrations with the remote. I was able to cycle the patterns on a medium setting with the on-board button but to make the vibrations softer or more intense, I have to use the remote. Relaxing with my wife, we played with the settings while getting into the mood. I was impressed with the vibration patterns of the Trio. Even though it’s only vibrating motors, the Trio feels like something actually moving around in there. One of the settings actually feels like electricity moving from base to tip and back again and I was able to feel everything! I immediately liked this toy.

Vibrations

One thing that b-Vibe went above and beyond with on the Trio is the vibrations. Toy makers tend to have the idea that everyone wants a jackhammer and anything less is a waste of time. Not so with the b-Vibe Trio. The vibrations go down to a very low, almost imperceptible tingle that gradually builds you up over time. The only other toy I’ve experience this with was the Aneros Helix Syn V and this is more than on-par with that. It’s a gentle build that ends up driving me wild over time. I was able to gradually increase the intensity while building toward climax and never going numb or getting bored. The second time we used the b-Vibe Trio I immediately put the intensity right to the top, just to see. It was too much. While I liked the highest setting during the last session, it was a gradual increase. Going right to “11” right away was almost painful and would have caused me to go numb and not enjoy it. I turned it back down and played with the patterns, instead.

Vibration Patterns

Usually with a vibrating toy, I like some patterns and don’t like others. There’s really no in between, it’s love or hate. With the b-Vibe Trio, I enjoy all of the patterns, some just more than others. It’s incredible to me that there is nothing mechanically moving like in the rimming plugs. The Trio feels alive with some of the patterns and it’s very stimulating. All of them are visualized on page 14 of the user manual (see below), but my favorite is setting 5, because each motor ramps up then down in intensity from the base to the tip in a wave-like pattern. On low power, this setting drives me nuts! Because of the way b-Vibe has put these vibrations together, none of them disappoint. In fact, after setting 5, the morse code-like setting 9 is my next favorite. It keeps you guessing and sometimes surprises you with a strong one.

The Remote Issue

For a lot of people, adjusting the intensity only with the remote isn’t an issue. It’s great in the bedroom and you can adjust settings without reaching around or stopping the action. Where I get hung up on it, though, is when I take the toy into the shower. Since the remote is not waterproof, you either can’t adjust the intensity or you risk ruining your remote. Other toys on the market have gotten around this by using a combination of click, double-click, and hold. If b-Vibe keeps the remote and adds full functionality to the single button on the device, in my opinion, the b-Vibe Trio would be a perfect plug.
