Why I Chose It
If I could give two awards, the Vixen Maverick would be both the test winner and the most realistic black dildo! It is fantastic quality and Vixen’s hand-poured, platinum, dual-density silicone dildos are the most realistic feeling I’m yet to experience in my years as a sex toy tester! The solid core and soft, squishy outer layer feel fantastic!
The model tested by our reviewer, Cassie, is actually the Midnight pearl model, but it does come in three skin tones — Chocolate, Vanilla, Caramel if you want a more realistic black dildo in terms of colour. It was love at first ride for Cassie and the Maverick dildo, and she wrote, “it very quickly become my favorite overall dildo in my whole collection.”
She was so impressed by how “incredibly realistic” the Maverick feels, adding that “the skin texture is very lifelike.” She also liked that it had “a large head, and a pronounced glans that offers some intense g-spot massage.”
Although Cassie was a bit taken aback by the size, she ended up enjoying it a lot! She wrote, “it provides a really fulfilling sensation that definitely works for me both on a physical and psychological level.” Even though it took a bit more warm up, she thought it was “totally worth it!”
Another great thing about the Maverick is it has a pretty decent suction cup base, so you can enjoy riding it hands-free! If you love the sound of it but aren’t quite ready for this size, I can highly recommend the Vixen Mustang. I reviewed the rainbow version but it also comes in the three skin tones!

If you are looking for a huge black dildo but prefer something less realistic, the Tantus General is both girthy and long and made from top-quality silicone.
Our tester, Cassie, liked that it had a “really apealling design with a smooth and sleek shape, and a super impressive size.” She was also enthralled with the size, commenting that the General has the ability “to command any room he’s in.”
She did appreciate that it’s made from Tantus’ premium silicone but did find it had a tacky quality, so it will need a generous slick of lube.
The smooth texture helps it to glide smoothly, but Cassie found she was missing a little textural stimulation. She also wished there was a suction cup dildo. While I love Tantus’ dildos I do with they would start putting suction cup bases on them!

I absolutely love the Fun Factory Magnum dildo and the black just looks gorgeous!
Our reviewer, Natasha, thought that the Fun Factory Magnum was “*chefs kiss* perfect!” I chose it as the best for beginners as it’s slimmer than the other black dildos and the smooth texture makes it feel less intense in use.

Why I Chose It
I love that you can get such a great quality black dildo for under $30! And it’s even dual density, which gives it an even more realistic feeling! This dildo also comes two other skin tones — one darker and one lighter, as well as some bold solid colors.
Ashley tested it out for us and really liked that “the outer skin feels a lot more real than a regular, cold-feeling toy.” She also commented that the dual layers made it “feel more real than regular dildos.” As someone who enjoys textural stimulation, I like that there are some really nice realistic textural details on this dildo too.
She was also very impressed by the strength of the suction cup, writing “it stayed put incredibly well!” She even found it “a little bit hard to get off of the wall afterwards!” A real pro if you prefer riding your dildos!
She did, however, find that the “inner core is a little too soft” for her liking and it meant she needed to use a bit more lube to insert it. I can see this making the dildo a little more difficult to use anally.

Why I Chose It
WOW. It’s not just girthy, but very long as well.
Our tester, George, is no stranger to big toys, but even he was taken aback by the sheer size of this massive black dildo! It’s definitely large and in charge!
He found that “it’s extremely firm” which made it “hard to push it in all the way,” but he did find the intensity very pleasurable.
He really appreciated the Vac-U-Lock base as it was able to attach to his sex machine, and was impressed by how secure it was, commenting that “even after using it for about 20 minutes, it was holding up well!”
My main concern with this dildo is that it is made from PVC, which is a porous material. After a bit of research I was able to find out that Doc Johnson state it’s phthalate-free though!
