My Verdict
Even though I tried this kit with a dildo for demonstration purposes, the end result was still pretty unappealing! The mold did pick up a lot of the details, but the silicone had some hard lumps that didn't mix out and ruined the end result! I did, however, learn a few tips along the way that I'll share in the hopes you have a bit more luck with yours! The only reason it gets a 2 and not lower is that the process is quite fun.

About The Clone-A-Willy
The Clone-A-Willy original kit comes with (almost) everything you need to clone your partner's penis! Personal Experience
Ding, Ding, Round 2
Having already tried the Clone-A-Willy Glow in the Dark Kit with my boyfriend, I came armed with a little extra knowledge and experience! I wanted to do this kit using a dildo, so I could film the process. I will say that it is much easier with a dildo though, as unlike a human penis, it’s prone to fluctuations in size (especially when dunking it in cold goo). It’s also easier to position the dildo in the center of the tube as it’s not attached to a body!2-1 to Clone-A-Willy
Although the molding process went a lot more smoothly this time around, the resulting dildo still left a lot to be desired. The first big issue was that some of the silicone was already hard when I poured it out of the pots. I tried to mix it in as best I could, but there were clumps in the finished product that made the dildo come apart when squeezed. Secondly, it’s almost impossible to center the vibrator exactly in the middle without touching the side, resulting in some rather gross looking bare patches where you can see the vibrator through the dildo.How to Use a Clone-A-Willy (and get it right)
Although I still haven’t quite mastered the Clone-A-Willy, I did learn some lessons along the way that will make it less stressful, and hopefully, more successful:- Read through the instructions and read through the extra instructions on the Clone-A-Willy website. I hate reading instructions with a passion but trust me on this one!
- Get everything you need beforehand. As well as everything that comes in the kit, you will need: A pen, a measuring tape, two plastic containers to mix the materials in (I used a yoghurt tub and moisturiser pot that I cleaned out well), something to stir the silicone (I used a disposable chopstick), measuring jug with 1 3/4 cups of 90°F water, and a 4×4 inch square of cardboard with a cross in the middle to support the vibrator.
- Cover your table and floor in bin bag for easy clean up, but don’t worry if you do get it on a hard surface, it comes off quite easily.
- Follow the temperature and timing directions precisely.
- Don’t worry if your molding alginate is a little lumpy, it will still work.
- When it comes to inserting your partners penis, try to dunk it into the tube, let it harden a little and then you can tip it up.
- Consider how you are going to stay aroused — if you are alone, consider finding something to watch and if you are with a partner get them to keep you going. This is going to be key when you put you penis into the mixture, as this is the crucial two minutes but highly unarousing!
- Try your hardest to keep your penis centered and away from the edge of the tube.
Design
The finished Clone-A-Willy was a sad looking state of affairs. The silicone was lumpy and bumpy and not appealing in any way! They also missed the mark on the deep skin tone with it having an almost purple tint to it. The cheap plastic vibrator sticking out the bottom definitely didn't add to the look. I was sent the deep skin kit but it also comes in light or medium as well as hot pink, purple, or black. There's also a glow in the dark version available in blue, green, or pink.
Ease of Use
Doing the Clone-A-Willy the second time around with a dildo instead of a person was definitely easier but it still didn't turn out well, which really says something. I consider myself a very crafty person and can pick up crafts pretty quickly, but this has been my least successful project yet. There's just so much room for error in this kit.
Quality
So the finished product was totally unusable due to the fact that some of the silicone had already hardened in the pot and did not integrate with the other silicone. This meant that when I squeezed the tip of the dildo, a lump of silicone oozed out of the end. It also came out with lots of bubble holes and tiny bits sticking to the surface, making me question how it could be properly cleaned. The vibrator is the weakest, buzziest excuse of a vibrator I've ever had the displeasure of touching.
Price
If the Clone-A-Willy kits worked, I absolutely wouldn't mind paying the price but given just how likely they are to go wrong, it's hard to justify the price. It can be a fun memory to make with a partner but it's a lot of money to pay and materials to use for something that's probably going to end up in the trash.
Performance
Unfortunately, the Clone-A-Willy kit didn't live up to my expectations on any level. The finished dildo vibrator is such low quality that I will not be letting it anywhere near my body!
Packaging
Everything comes packaged in a clear tube, which also doubles as the container for the mold. I like the fun design of the logo but be warned, it's definitely not discreet! My only gripe about this kit is just how much plastic is used but I also can't really see how that could be minimised.
Materials and care
Before I tried the Clone-A-Willy Kit for the first time, I was a little suspicious of the molding material, but it's actually really cool! It's alginate, which is derived from seaweed extract and totally body safe. I also really appreciate that the dildo is made from 100% platinum-cure silicone. Although this is the gold standard for sex toys, some of the silicone in the kit had already hardened and didn't gel with the rest, affecting the integrity of the finished dildo and making it unsafe for use.
