Didn’t Quite Live Up to My Fantasies

Design

The Icicles No. 24 Glass Tentacle Dildo is a beautiful piece of artwork. I will gladly display it in my house for anyone to see. I think the vague pink color makes it look super elegant and discreet - as discreet as tentacle dildos go, that is. So visually, this dildo is great, but performance-wise, I wouldn't say that the design impressed me very much. First of all, for anyone out there who actually is longing for some action for their tentale fantasies, this dildo is not designed so the tentacle itself goes inside of you. Rather, the "body" of the tentacle is the insertable part. This part is also shaped a little bit like a tongue with a deep ridge in the middle and is generally more flat than round. The sensation of an insertable that is mostly flat is not something that works for me, I have to admit. But it also disappointed me quite a bit in terms of texture. The bumps on the shaft were actually fine. However, the texture on the back of the tongue are these prominent "veiny" ridges. Those felt waaay too intense for me during penetration! Thrusting didn't feel great since the texture was a bit overwhelming, the shape didn't feel fulfilling to me, and the curvature didn't quite stimulate my g-spot or a-spot. All in all, this is not a great design for me in terms of sensation. Thank goodness it's pretty, then!

Ease of Use

Well, this is a dildo so how difficult can it really be to use? Despite having quite a simple purpose, I'd actually say it's one of the dildos in my collection that the least beginner-friendly. Sure, you may know exactly *how* to use it. But there's a bit of learning curve to figuring out how to make it work for you (if you can). First of all, tentacle dildos tend to need a lot more lube than usual to keep things nice and slippery throughout use. Secondly, the texture on this one in particular is not super beginner-friendly compared to other texture dildos I've tried. Finally, glass dildos in general aren't the easiest to dildos to use from the get-go because they are wuite heavy and can get really slippery with lube. In my opinion, they're not the easiest to handle in the beginning.

Quality

I think the Icicles No. 24 Glass Tentacle Dildo is actually a pretty good quality product. One of my favorite sex toys in the world is an Icicles product, so I know that the brand itself makes high-quality items! I know that the glass is hand-blown borosillicate glass that is completely hypoallergenic and I'm never really worried to use any glass toys made by Icicles. The same goes for this cute tentacle dildo.

Price

The Icicles No. 24 Glass Tentacle Dildo is definitely not one of the cheapest products from the Icicles range. That is understandable, I think, given the level of detail and novelty design incorporated in this tentacle dildo. On the bright side, most "realistic" silicone tntacle dildos are often much more expensive. So, this little guy is both a slightly more elegant, and slightly more on the affordable side when it comes to high-quality tentacle dildos on the market.

Performance

Well, if you haven't read much of my review until now and basically just skipped to this section, I can reveal to you that the Icicles No. 24 Glass Tentacle Dildo didn't quite live up to my expectations. While it does look the part in terms of aesthetics (will need to find a spot to display it proudly in my home), the shapes and textures just didn't do it for me. The shaft wasn't actually very curved, so my hopes of providing some firm stimulation to my g-spot quickly went down the drain. The flatter tongue-like shape didn't quite please the lady in charge either (yes, my vagina, I mean). I also felt like the insertable length could have been a bit longer, especially when catering to a customer base that may be into tentacle sex. Just an idea...

Packaging

Now, the packaging is always moderately pleasing when it comes to Icicles products. It's simplistic but also clean and elegant. Although with a few drawbacks like not including a storage bag for the toy itself. Quite important if you have a glass toy, if you ask me! On the other hand, the box itself has a pretty cool lid with a magnetic opening that reveals the product itself in a plastic display window. Materials and care

Since the Icicles No. 24 is a glass dildo, it is one of the easiest sex toys to clean and maintain. Of course, you should definitely be careful not to drop it or fracture it in some way (even though the glass should be fracture-resistant). After all, they're not completely indestructible! But when it comes to basic cleaning and maintenance, and despite the many nooks and crannies in this textured dildo, it's still a breeze! After use, simply rinse off any residue and wash with a mild, unscented soap, and rinse again. Let it dry completely before storing it something safe. Remember to give it a little wipe or rinse before use next time! If you want to use with multiple people or in multiple orifices, you can easily sterilize it in boiling water for a few minutes.
