ID Xtreme Water-Based Lube Review
My Verdict
The ID Xtreme is one of the thickest anal lubes I have ever seen, almost being half solid, half liquid! I have tried other thick lubes, like the Tenga hole lotion, but this ones clears the others out of the park. If you are looking for something thick that almost leaves a layer on the skin, and not being runny or watery, then this is for sure your best option. This jumbo tube would probably last the whole of 2025 it is so big, and with a little going a long way, you'll certainly get your moneys worth. That is, if you have some saved, as it is not the cheapest lube on the market!

Design Features
Ignoring the astronomical size of the bottle, I like the design. I have tested a few ID lubes and love how they look - sleek and modern. This lube does have a more neutral to masculine tone to it, due to the darker colouring and style of the font. I also think the spelling of the word 'Xtreme' is a little gimmicky, but I am not that mad. I have always been a fan of a see-through bottle, as I am able to look at the colour of the lube (I hate lubes that are coloured, even slightly!) Yet, with the font being white and the bottle being see-though, it is pretty tough to read! On the darker part (bottom) of the bottle, it is easier to read, otherwise I had to put on my glasses. The words and logo don't really stick out, which is a shame.
Evaluating the User-Friendliness of the ID Xtreme Water-Based Lube
I was worried that this lube was going to be impossible to wash off, as it is so thick. It took a couple of seconds but with some soap and warm water, it came off my skin very easily. As it is water-based, it works with all condom types and sex toy materials. As this is an anal lube, and for someone who loves silicone toys, it is great to know I can use it with any material sex toys. After using the lube, it because pretty tacky, but I think that is because of how thick it is. With some more lube added when it started to dry, it reactivated it and was slippery for ages.
Quality Verdict: How does ID Xtreme Water-Based Lube Measure Up?
I think you'll have realised by now, but I avoid glycerin lubes at all costs. This is because I am susceptible to bacterial infections, which can often be brought on by glycerin. Glycerin is a sugar that can promote bacterial growth in the vagina. This is particularly bad for vulva owners - As this is an anal lube, I am not worried as much, as I don't plan on using it for normal PIV sex. The ingredients in this lube are: Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Cellulose Gum, EDTA, Carbomer, PEG-90M, Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine, Methylparaben, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.
Evaluating the Price Point of the ID Xtreme Water-Based Lube
With the size of this bottle, of course it has a hefty price tag. But I like to think of it more as an investment lube - with a little going a long way, I would bet $50 that this bottle would last the whole 365 days of 2025, even if you used it once a week! If you are willing to spend, then I would say it is worth the investment.
Does it Deliver on Performance?
One of the thickest lubes I have tried - top 3 for sure. A little certainly goes a long way. It does need some regular re-application, as it can dry out, especially during anal sex, but re-application works a treat when it comes to keeping the area as wet as possible. This lube would be great to use with large sex toys, all made out of different materials including silicone. When doing the drip off the spoon test, it took ages for the lube to actually fall off the spoon! When on the skin, it made a thick layer, which was great as the whole area was lubricated - I would highly recommend using a lube injector, simply to help with accuracy and direction of the lube. All in all, it worked exactly how I would expect an anal lube to work - thick, coating and not too runny.
Packaging: Adding Value or Just Fluff?
I have tested some ID lubes before, and I have always been a fan of the packaging. The embossed logo on the top of the lid screams that the company have put more effort into their bottle production - not just leaving the lid to be a bulk-buy lid order. The bottle is made of plastic that can we squeezed, which is great for such a big bottle - I am not a fan of bottles that are hard to squeeze! The click-close lid is perfect for this size bottle, as it makes it easy and accurate to aim the lube onto the skin. Sure, this has to be one of th ebiggest bottles in my lube collection, which is a pain to store away soemtimes. Otherwise, it can very easliy be held in my hand and used.
Exploring the Materials and Care of the ID Xtreme Water-Based Lube
Despite being so thick, this anal lube washed off very easily from the skin, as it is a water-based lube. It didn't stain the sheets which is always a bonus, and for someone like me who has a darker bed sheets, it is great when they don't get left with a strange white stain on them!
