Kiiroo Onyx+ Review
My Verdict
I have a love/hate relationship with the Kiiroo Onyx+. I love the concept and possibilities but the actual implementation with the software and available videos just misses the mark. Take the cost and noise into consideration and it's hard to fully recommend this automatic stroker. Hopefully, overtime they will update the software and videos but for now, it's a work in progress.

Personal Experience
My Initial Thoughts
When I first received the Kiiroo Onyx+, I was super excited! The fact that this offered so many play and interactivity modes was intriguing. I downloaded the FeelConnect and Video Watcher App, did some research, even pulled out my old VR headset to use with my phone. I was ready to try all the possibilities and the unit itself did not disappoint… initially. It feels and looks premium. The packaging was on point for a “premium” toy. All signs pointed to an amazing toy. But then…Using the Kiiroo Onyx+
I wanted to start with the connected, interactive features. Go big or go home, right? Everything connected fine, and the app picked up the unit, no problem. I started using the Video Watcher app as this was touted as the AI-based feature that would allow for any videos to be “interactive”. It gives suggestions from the normal mainstream porn sites and I picked the most obvious one. I selected video and started to watch and… it worked… kinda. It seemed like there was major lag behind what was going on on the screen and what the Onyx+ was doing. So there was a pretty big disconnect between the two, which really affected my experience. The other thing I noticed was that the motor in the Kiiroo Onyx+ is really loud. It’s a very high pitched, whinny, whirring sound and definitely takes away from the immersion effect that you were supposed to get. Not a great start. The Specifics
At that point I decided to try the “Automatic” features. There are 3 main modes on the Kiiroo Onyx+. Bluetooth, Manual, and Automatic. Bluetooth mode included all the interactive features through any of the apps whether that’s watching an interactive VR video or connecting to one of the other Kiiroo devices for an interactive experience. Manual mode is exactly what it sounds like. You use the “buttons” to manual move the stroker inside. I struggled with this mode as its awkward to do, especially solo. If you have a partner it’s a little better. You hold the stroker and they press the buttons. Still weird.Automated Processes
The automatic mode is exactly what it sounds like. Four preset movement patterns; Full stroke, Power up, Handjob, and Storm. These worked fairly well. I tend to like more consistency with my patterns so Full stroke worked the best for me. The experience there wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. The outer sleeves only have once patterns with the nubs all along the inside so there was not variation. Most openings (vaginal, anal, or oral) do not have consistent topographies inside and that was very noticeable here. I did like that I could set and automatic mode and then move the unit in my own pattern as well to add to the experience. It’s Interactive!
I then decided to go back to the interactive features and after doing a little research I found that the FeelConnect app has pre-scripted videos to use as samples for all the Kiiroo interactive devices. I was able to find those and even used the VR headset and my phone to test out some videos. This was where the interactive features shined. They were choreographed very well and the stroked was right on with any on screen movements. I really enjoyed this but there are two major downsides. There are only a handful of “free” videos and again, the noise of the motor. Feelme.com is a subscription service for interactive videos. The subscriptions start at $14.95/month but does include a FeelMe AI ($9.99) subscription. This was a real downer for me. I understand that this is a “fairly” high tech sex toy but to pay so much for the unit and then have to keep paying it to enjoy the unit to its fullest is a huge bummer. The Wrap-up
Overall, I like the Kiiroo Onyx+ but the noise, high price tag, and various paywalls for interactive videos really bring down the experience.Design
The Kiiroo Onyx+ just looks premium. From the nice packaging to the sleek all black plastic and touch sensitive buttons. It's definitely made of quality stuff. But it's also big, heavy, and hard to hold with one hand. All that technology has to fit somewhere right? I didn't have a major issue using it but I do have larger hands. If you are using a VR headset and have 2 hands free you should have no problems.
Ease of Use
The Kiiroo Onyx+ is kind of a mixed bag when it comes to how easy it is to use. On one hand, you charge it, insert the sleeve, lube up and go in either manual or automatic mode. On the other, connecting it to you phone or tablet is immensely more complicated. First, you have to download the FeelConnect or Video Watcher apps, register, connect via Bluetooth, find a video, and then you can start to use the interactive features. It does have the ability to connect to other Kiiroo toys but without another compatible toy I was unable to test this feature. Finding videos is also more complicated. There are some free videos but the vast majority of videos behind multiple paywalls, which is a bummer. The FeelAI feature, which is supposed to take any video and make it interactive, just didn't work well. It's also big and heavy. I have large hands so It wasn't as big of a deal but I would see others having holding the toy with one hand.
Quality
This is where Kiiroo shines. The unit is solid. The touch controls are responsive, albeit weird. The button isn't too hard to push but it won't get turned on accidentally either. The sleeves seem to be really nice and soft too, which is both good and bad. The biggest negatives are with the noise, sensation, and software. The motor is loud and whinny. It definitely takes away from the immersion when you hear that thing going. The sensation is.....weird. The sleeve seems fine but it almost seems too soft and doesn't do a good job of transferring the movements inside to your penis. It got me there but it seemed to take a lot of work. The final issues is with the software. Although there is some uniformity with some of the sites and videos the AI feature just doesn't seem ready for prime time. The pre-synced movies are great but expensive and the free items just don't work or don't exist.
Price
Yeah... it's expensive. At a retail price of ~$210 it's on the very high end of strokers. That being said it isn't your typical stroker and you can find it cheaper and on sale at many online retailers. But is it worth even the sale price? As a basic stroker, definitely not. There are much cheaper options that feel better in my opinion. The automatic feature definitely adds to the value and when you consider connected features and its getting close. I just don't think the performance justifies the high price.
Performance
I was super excited when I first saw the Kiiroo Onyx+. The feature list was impressive and most reviews were decent. After using it, I would definitely say I am a little disappointed. It didn't "feel" like I thought it would and the interactivity, although nice, its pretty gimmicky and expensive. With the loud motor and general lack of sensation with the automatic functions, it wasn't the experience I was expecting. Now, it wasn't all bad. It charged fast, lasted awhile between charges, and worked for both solo and partner play. It isn't bad, just a little rough around the edges which wasn't expected at that price point.
Packaging
The packaging for the Kiiroo Onyx+ is superb. Nice, heavy box with foam inserts nice printed images on the box. Solid instructions and options for play detailed in the included materials. It also included a micro-USB charging cable and a separately packed sleeve insert. Overall, it was done well.
Materials and care
The Kiiroo Onyx+ is made of fairly top end materials. The ABS shell has a nice glossy finish and the touch sensitive buttons are clear and easy to use. The inner sleeve is made of POM (polyoxymethylene) while the outer, replaceable sleeves are made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). The outer sleeves come in two sizes, standard or tight. The Onyx+ only comes with one standard sleeve but you can purchase them in 3 packs from Kiiroo. The sleeves are fairly thin so be careful not rip them when using them. The Unit itself is large and heavy coming in at 2lbs and 3.5in at its widest part. Its size does make it hard to hold with one hand. Cleaning the unit couldn't be easier though since the outer sleeve is removable. So once you're finished you can remove the "grip clip" (which holds the sleeve in place), pull out and wash the sleeve. Simple warm, soapy water works best. Any residue on the main unit can be cleaned with warm water but it should be stated that the Kiiroo Onyx+ is NOT waterproof. It is also suggested to use water-based lubes as to not breakdown the sleeves.
