Liquid Silk Lube Review
My Verdict
Overall, I think this a great lube to have on hand if you want something long-lasting and a lubricant that looks realistic. This lube would be perfect for those wanting to introduce role play into their sex lives, or if they had toys that would be complimented by cum looking lubricant. It comes in an easy to use pump bottle, with clear branding and neutral ingredients. Unlike other water-based lubes, it lasts an extended amount of time without needing reapplication, which is great for those who want to use it for an extended amount of time. I know I hate having to pause my sex to re-apply, it really ruins the mood for me. If I was to change anything, I would change the packaging design, as I don't think it is that attractive and I don't like the logo, but now I am just being picky. I would certainly recommend this lube to a friend.
Buy, if you...
- Want a lube that looks like cum
- Want a lube that doesn't dry out quickly
Don't buy, if you...
- Prefer translucent lube
- Have overly sensitive skin
About The Liquid Silk Lube
The Liquid Silk lubricant is a water-based sexual lubricant, that can be used with all types of sex toy materials and condom types. This lube is white in colour and 'looks like cum' when on the skin. After rubbing it into the skin, it still remains slightly white, perfect for those who want a realistic looking lubricant. Liquid Silk comes in an easy to use bottle that has a pump lid, great for when your hands already have lube on them. The branding is clear and states exactly what it is on the packaging. It has a lock close lid, great for travelling and contains body safe ingredients. I would recommend this lube to both penis and vulva owners.
Pros
- ✅Great for role play because of its' realistic colour
- ✅Lasts a long time without needing reapplication
- ✅Doesn't dry up quickly
Cons
- ❌The packaging design is misleading and boring
- ❌Not great for sensitive vulva owners

Design
When I first saw this lube, I thought it looked a little like a pot of liquid glue. It has quite an ominous look to it - with this mysterious white, thick liquid inside a bottle with large black lettering. But obviously knowing it was lube, it is simply designed and clearly labels what it is. It is certainly not my favourite packaging - I am someone who either likes a lot of colour or that the design is very sleek and discrete. With this lube's design, it has this random logo on it and words about 'making people fit together'. I understand what they are trying do with this message, but it then goes on to read "reducing friction in relationships" - I don't think I have ever seen a lube promise counselling advice, but here we are. I'm just saying that I think Liquid Silk could have been a lot more imaginative with its design.
Ease of Use
Even though this lube looks thick when initially placed on the skin, it rubs to a natural thickness, while also coating the area. It remains slimy and smooth on the skin for an extended amount of time, without drying out quickly, which for a water based lube is pretty rare. When washing it off the skin, it is very quick and easy and doesn't leave a lasting, greasy feeling on the skin. I hate lubes that feel like they have not fully been washed off - I don't want it lingering on me after use! As it is a water-based lube, it is compatible with all types of condoms and sex toy materials, which is great for those of you who don't want to think about your lube when mid session!
Quality
The quality of this lube feels premium and high quality on the skin - smooth and reasonably thick. It using body safe ingredients that shouldn't react negatively with the skin. It doesn't say if the lube itself is FDA approved or not, but the ingredients in this product are, as well as the scientific testing that it has been through. As this is a water=based lube, it has a very neutral pH of 7, showing that is has neutral ingredients that aren't too acidic. This is good for those wanting a lube that isn't going to throw off their natural pH. However, if you have a sensitive vulva, I would suggest a slightly acidic lube that has a pH closer to 5/6, so that it is closer to the natural pH of a vagina. The ingredients that are in this lube are: Highly Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl, Palmitate, Dimethicone (2% Silicone), Cellulose Polymer, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate NSE, B.N.P.D, Di Sodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, BHT.
Price
For a good quality lube that feels nice on the skin and lasts a long time without needing reapplication, I think Liquid Silk is priced pretty reasonably, not being too expensive. It has all the attractive qualities of a high end lube - thick enough for all types of sex (including using sex toys and for anal) and doesn't dry out like most other water-based lubes often do. It comes in an easily accessible bottle but not the most attractive bottle. I would have preferred a more aesthetically pleasing bottle for this price, but I am paying for the product, so as long as that is good, I don't really care.
Performance
I really really loved using this lube, and for someone who never buys 'cum coloured' lube, I would purchase this product again. This is truly one of the first water-based lubes I have used that hasn't dried out in minutes. It remained slippery for a good length of time without needing re-application, which is something I really dislike doing as I think it ruins the mood for me. I also liked how it felt on my skin, being smooth but also thick enough that it coated certain areas - even though it isnt the thickest lube on the market, I would still feel comfortable using it for anal or with large sex toys. I think this toy would work best with a Fleshlight or a vibrator, something that you might use for an extended amount of time, as you can always top up on the lube if you wanted a slipperier time!
Compatibility
I was over the moon when I saw a pump lid, as pump lids are my favourite. Having used so many lubes in my time, I have seen all sorts of different bottle and lid designs, as well as putting their efficiency to the test while having lube on my hands. In my opinion, a pump lid is the best lid to have, as it is simple and easy to use, and you can accurately control how much lube you are using. You can also accurately direct the lube onto the desired area, with ease. I loved the way the lube came in plastic wrap - it just puts my mind at ease knowing that it hasn't been tampered with. I also like how it has a pump lid that can be locked, which will be great when travelling. I just hope it doesn't twist the other way and squirt all over my bikinis!
Stain Test
As this lube is water-based, it can be washed out of clothes and bedsheets very easily, without leaving a lasting stain. If you have white bedsheets, then you're in the clear, yet if you're like me and have dark grey sheets, it certainly leaves a stain straight away. After a moment it sinks in and looks like clear water on bed sheets that can be washed out, but I would always recommend putting down a towel or waterproof blanket.
