High Roller: the Path to Prostate Paradise?

A Disappointing Spin

Design

The Lovehoney High Roller is well built overall. The toy seems sturdy, and the remote also is robust. The black color looks sleek and smooth. Watching it vibrate and twist, I was excited to try this toy, however the designs of the shape left me a little disappointed. It is extremely girthy in the middle, which made insertion a challenge. I'm not new to anal toys, but this was not easy get in. Once in, it didn't feel secure (maybe it wasn't in far enough...?). More importantly, it didn't "tickle my fancy" the way I had hoped. And what's the point of an untickled fancy?

Ease of Use

There is one master on/off switch on the base of the High Roller, but trying to control modes from the base was challenging, with only the one button. The wireless remote helps alleviate this by giving control over both the twisting and the vibration, as well as a standby mode with both actions disengaged. The biggest challenge of this toy though is it's girth. I should preface this with the fact that I've tried anal toys before, so I'm not new to them, but they have not been anywhere near this size. Insertion was a difficulty for me, and once inside, I felt like it would not stay there easily. I was impressed with the ease of charging. Both the remote and the toy itself are rechargeable, and can be charged at the same time with one USB plug. This was a nice feature.

Quality

The Lovehoney High Roller feels well built overall. The rotating head does look a bit flimsy while it's moving, so I question it's longevity, but the overall look of the toy seems well built and I get the feeling that this toy will not fall apart on you. Both the vibrations and the rotations are quite loud though. Also, the toy seems to heat up while in use. I feel like this is more of a design flaw than a feature, as heat is not listed anywhere as a feature on the package.

Price

The price point of the High Roller is lower than similar vibrating/rotating anal toys, which is a plus. However, the cost savings are reflected in the details. No frills here with no instruction manual (instructions are printed on the box) or storage bag. Even the box is a little plain and simple. The High Roller is not the toy for the High Spender.

Performance

The functions of the Lovehoney High Roller left me underwhelmed. Although there are 7 vibration patterns, there is no option to control the level of vibration. The vibration is easy to turn off with the remote, however there didn't seem to be a way to turn off the rotation of the tip. You are able to control the speed of the rotating head (with three speeds), but it would have been nice to be able to just use the vibration alone. Unfortunately, this is not an option (or if it is, it was not clear how in the instructions). Overall, I was expecting mind blowing p-spot sensations, as I have used non-vibrating anal toys before and was really excited to try something with more features, but in the end, these features didn't even bring me to orgasm, no matter how I repositioned it inside me. Perhaps this was due to the girth of the High Roller. Maybe if it were slightly smaller, it works have hit my spots more effectively... It's hard to say for sure.

Packaging

The packaging of the Lovehoney High Roller gives the impression that it is cheaper and lower quality than I think it deserves. Inside the box, the toy was in a plain packaging bag, without any case or storage bag. There is a multi language instruction booklet inside, but the English instructions aren't in it. The only instructions included are on the box. I feel like these little details make a difference in terms of expectations of quality, and works have gone a long way to make this toy feel more like a High Roller.

Materials and care

The Lovehoney High Roller is made of silicone and seems robust, although it's a little heavy for an anal toy. It is waterproof, which is a plus, as you'll need quite a lot of lube to get this girthy buddy inside you. Cleaning was a breeze with warm, soapy water. It's unfortunate it didn't come with any storage bag, especially as it has a very specific charging cable which would have been nice to keep with the toy.
