Personal Experience

I was so excited when I first received my Lovehoney Sweet Heat in the mail. I had never tried a sex machine before and was looking forward to adding relentless, hands-free penetration to my masturbation regimen.

First Impressions

When I unboxed the Sweet Heat, I was impressed with its compactness, albeit confused about how to set it up. I read the instructions on the side of the box (which I appreciated) and was pleasantly surprised to learn that set-up was simple and easy. I was curious about the shape of the dildo attachment, though, which has ridges that are like nothing I’ve seen on a dildo before.

Taking it for a Ride

I had some difficulty getting the base of the toy to stay suctioned, but once secured, I applied a generous amount of lube to the dildo and turned on the toy. I was initially startled by the apparent power of the machine’s thrusts, but upon inserting the dildo vaginally in doggy position, I was disappointed to discover its looks are deceiving. Although I really enjoyed the hands-off nature of the toy, the machine frequently stalled while penetrating me — essentially getting stuck. If I adjusted my body or increased the toy’s speed, the thrusts would thankfully resume, and I could also compensate for the lack of continuous penetration by riding the dildo myself; this was pleasurable but also led to stalled thrusts or the base’s suction detaching which was a buzz kill.

The Dildo Itself

Sadly, the dildo that comes with the Sweet Heat is very rigid and hard, which I found to be painful and irritating when inserted vaginally. I was disappointed that the dildo is hardly curved at all, and so when in use it doesn’t manage to hit my G-spot, which is generally what makes vaginal penetration pleasurable for me. For this reason, the Lovehoney Sweet Heat is not a toy I will make regular use of unless using it to put on a show.

The Heating Function

One feature I did love about the Lovehoney Sweet Heat is the toy’s heating function. About 4 minutes after pressing the flame button on the toy’s base, the dildo warms up considerably. When inserted vaginally, the dildo felt great as it simulates the sensation of a warm, biological penis.

I probably won’t be using the Lovehoney Sweet Heat often, but I did learn that I enjoy heated temperature play, and that a powerful sex machine is something I’d like to add to my collection.

Design

The Lovehoney Sweet Heat comes with a remote control and 3 attachments: the suction base which can be adjusted to allow for various angles of penetration, the egg-shaped motor that encompasses 3 buttons (heat on/off, light on/off, and vibration speed/pattern) which attaches to the base, and the silicone dildo. The intuitive remote control comes with two buttons: one for speed and one for the heat function. All three of the attachments are of high quality material, but the dildo’s design was too rigid and straight for my liking.

Ease of Use

The machine itself is easy to turn on, as all one needs to do is hold down the on/off button on either the attachment or the remote control for several seconds. The same is true for the heating function. When inserted vaginally, unfortunately the thrusting at times can stall and the suction on the base can give out. I would imagine this may be the case more-so for larger-bodied folks. The heat remained active throughout play, though!

Quality

For a travel-friendly sex machine, the Lovehoney Sweet Heat is high quality. The dildo is made of body-safe silicone (although not the greatest design) and the machine itself feels sturdy while also compact.

Price

Sex machines can range in price from around $100 to over $1000. For a lower-power, compact sex machine, the Lovehoney Sweet Heat is reasonably priced at ~$125.

Performance

For a beginner’s sex machine, the Lovehoney Sweet Heat’s performance is adequate. The compactness of the machine is superb, but the dildo’s design and thrusts were mediocre at best. This toy is on the louder side, and the battery is advertised to last around 40 minutes after 100 minutes of charging.

Packaging

The packaging of the Lovehoney Sweet Heat is not over-the-top; it’s simple and compact, much like the toy itself. There are how-to-use instructions printed on the side of the box which I appreciated when needing quick directions for use.

Materials and care

The dildo attachment of the Lovehoney Sweet Heat is made of non-waterproof body-safe silicone. The machine when fully attached is light and compact. You can clean the dildo attachment with soap and warm water, and the toy's charger is USB-compatible.
