Lovense Mission 2 Review

My Verdict
The Lovense Mission 2 is another quality product from Lovense, which expands upon their range of toys that can make use of their various online apps and remote control options. The Mission 2 is a really interesting choice if you have a partner that has the Solace Pro, as the toys can be linked so that one responds to what the other is doing! Lovense have been making regular updates to their VibeMate and Tophy apps, bringing an even wider range of options to users. The particularly unique feature of the Mission 2 is how it can vary the intensity of vibration depending upon the depth of penetration into the body, or how far down you move your hand or mouth! In short, if you want something wireless, with strong vibrations and the flexibility to be used in numerous ways, this should certainly be on your list.

About The Lovense Mission 2
The Lovense Mission 2 is what might be classed as an smart vibrator, with AI features. Made from food-grade silicone and plastic, and measuring a total of 7.87" long and 1.46" wide (though they say 5.51" are insertable), the Mission 2 comes supplied with a suction base, plus an adjustable bracket to allow you to vary its angle if you wish to stick it onto a surface. The toy certainly feels really good quality and the magnetic charger works well, unlike those on some toys I have tried. Whilst primarily aimed at those with a vagina into which the toy can be inserted, it is also suitable for use on the outside of the body by both genders. Lovense DO NOT recommend the toy for anal play, as it doesn't come with a flared base, though that might not stop some people from using it this way, especially if attached to the screw-in base options.
The vibrations of the Lovense Mission 2 are quiet, quite powerful, and somewhat buzzy

Personal Experience

Playing whilst apart
The Lovense Mission 2 builds upon an impressive range of remote control sex toys that allow partners to play either solo or together, when with each other or miles apart. Like many of their latest toys, the Mission 2 can be used with their range of apps, such as Tophy (like a dating / hook-up site) and VibeMate (which has lots of options and allows users to sync their toy to the onscreen action). My first impressions of the toy were very positive – again, another well designed, well made, quality feeling product. The packaging was clear and well designed, the toy came with a nice storage pouch, magnetic charger, and a couple of attachments that screw into the base of the toy.Learning experience
Mission 2 can either be used on its own, like a conventional wireless vibrator, in which mode it has some pretty strong patterns available, or in conjunction with one of the Lovense apps. There are three main ones that you’ll likely encounter, as mentioned, there Tophy and VibeMate, plus the Lovense app itself. It is this that you will be needing if planning to have fun playing with a partner and their toy in unison. Whilst most features are fairly easy to get a grasp of, I did find getting the Mission 2 to successfully synchronise with my Solace Pro was not quite as easy as I’d hoped it might be. Granted, Lovense do keep making changes to the apps, in an effort to improve the user experience, but I found I needed to search and use a bit of trial an error to get the toys to link. However, once linked, they worked really well with each other, providing various options such as one toy taking the lead over the other. When paired with the Solace Pro, the depth and speed of the Mission 2 are reflected in how the Solace Pro moves, giving a uniquely connected experience, even if miles apart.Flexibility
When used in conjunction with the base attachments, I found both worked really well, giving an easy way to vary the angle of the toy and an effective amount of suction to keep the toy attached to a number of different surfaces, even during some fairly vigorous bouncing! These bases can either be used together or the suction base alone can be used. This gives the user even more flexibility over how they choose to use the toy. Furthermore, whilst not advised by Lovense, when attached to the bases, it is feasible to use the Mission 2 for some backdoor action.Quality control
Whilst the Mission 2 does feel like a quality, well built product, I did experience a unit failure with the first one that I received. The process of getting a replacement was not quite as easy as I would have hoped, but it was eventually replaced with a new one, with which there have been no issues whatsoever.Design

The Mission 2 is a really nicely designed toy, offering good quality packaging and accessories, along with a range of options for how to play. The silicone coating feels really nice, with a slight amount of give at the very tip. However, from my partner's perspective, she actually felt the toy was too hard when inserted, but fine for external use. The shaft has a number of ridges to provide extra stimulation as you move it in and out, a motion that can also be used to control the vibration intensity! This is one of the main design features, that the level of vibration can be made to increase as the toy is inserted further, going from a fairly light level to something much more aggressive. Whilst magnetic chargers seem to be becoming much more common with toys, many fail to work very well, often falling off without much effort. I found that the charger for the Mission2 stayed on pretty well and certainly didn't experience any problems getting the toy to charge. This is another key strength of the Mission 2 - once charged, it seems to keep going for quite a long time. Aside the control option from the apps, the toy itself has just two buttons, an on/off switch that also cycles through the different patterns and another switch to put the toy into the depth sensing mode.
Ease of Use

Generally, the Mission2 is pretty easy to use. In 'dumb' mode, i.e. used without any apps, you only need to consider the two buttons found on the top of the shaft. When using it in conjunction with the apps, it remains fairly straightforward to use, especially after a little experimentation. However, as mention previously, I did find it a little tricky when trying to link it to a partner's toy via the Lovense app. Maybe, I was just being a bit slow, but I do feel that there is room for improvement in the pairing process, especially when wanting to play with a regular partner. Certainly, the process of using it to sync with the videos in VibeMate was much easier, in my opinion. After use, the toy is really easy to clean - just wash it under running water, as it is waterproof, so, yes, you can even use it in the bath or shower.
Quality

The Lovense Mission 2 gives the feel of a good quality toy. Bar the one problem with a faulty unit, I have experienced no other problems and, certainly based on how well made it feels, I would not expect any. The product has an almost luxurious feel to it, thanks to the silky silicone coating. Granted, some users might feel that the toy is a little too hard for their liking, but I suspect most users will be more than happy with how it feels. In terms of noise levels, I found it no more disturbing than any other vibrating toys, indeed, it is pretty quiet. However, you do need to ensure things are properly tightened, when using the bases, as any loose fitting will add to the noise level.
Price

At an RRP of £219, this would be an expensive toy. But, you are much more likely to be looking at paying in the region of £109, still quite expensive, but much more reasonable than the RRP. Is it worth it? Well, in terms of the quality, functionality, ability to use different apps, let alone play with someone on the other side of the planet, I'd say yes, it probably is. As a standalone vibrator, you could do the job just as well for much less money, but to have the unique experiences and opportunities that the Mission 2 offers, the cost/benefit ratio swings back in favour of good value. All the components feel to be good quality, and the inclusion of a storage pouch is nice, although it is a bit too tight to be able to store the toy when attached to the base sections - please, Lovense, supply storage pouches that have enough room to fit everything inside.
Performance

The Lovense Mission 2 can certainly give a good performance. The vibrations feel nice and the various modes and options really add to the experience. Thanks to a quoted battery life of up to 230 minutes, you shouldn't need to worry too much about being left high and dry at the crucial moment. Recharging was a very reasonable time of approx. 80 minutes. When used with the VibeMate app, some of the synchronisation weren't quite as good as hoped for, but it still gave an enhanced experience. The depth sensing feature feels a bit like magic - how can it tell how far in it is!? This feature worked really well and also adds that extra link to playing with a partner with linked toys. It is certainly a toy with which you can have a great time experimenting and exploring the numerous features and options made possible by its ability to work over the internet.
Packaging

The packaging has a good quality feel and presents the toy nicely, alongside its accessories. They don't go mad with lots of extra superfluous packing materials, which is great in these environmentally concerned times.. The design on the box is simple and informative, giving clear information, in various languages, and not making the toy look sleazy or cheap. The inclusion of a storage pouch is welcome, although it needed to be bigger if you want to put the accessories inside too. The box includes a QR code, for those that use them, in order for you to access extra information and download apps.
Materials and care

The materials of the toy feel nice against the skin and are designed to be perfectly safe for use inside the body. Everything about the toy feels of good quality, as one would expect from a reasonably expensive toy. Being waterproof to IPX7 means that not only can you play in the shower, but cleaning the toy once finished is a breeze - simply apply a little cleansing product and wash under running water. Do make sure you dry the toy thoroughly before storing, so as to avoid any chance of nasty things growing on it!
Special feature

The Lovense Mission 2 has a couple of special features. Firstly is the ability to sense how deep the toy has been inserted and to adjust the vibrations accordingly. Likewise, if paired with another suitable toy, it can also use this feature to vary the stimulation experienced by the partner through their toy. Secondly are the apps that the toy can be linked to. These allow a range of options, from having your Mission 2 controlled by a stranger, through to synchronising the vibrations to try and mimic what is happening on screen. You can also use the apps to gain even more control over the toy than is possible by simply using the buttons. The ability to link with a partner’s toy, even when apart, is a very interesting option, if a little complicated the first few times. However, once you have had time to get used to where all the options and features are, then things become a bit easier. Being able to enjoy the sensations from your Mission 2 whilst in the shower or bath, something you can’t do with the Solace Pro, is another nice feature and can certainly help with relaxing in the tub!
