Magic Wand Mini Review

Personal Experience

When my Magic Wand Mini arrived, I was so excited. I had heard such amazing things about the Magic Wand Original from many people and was ecstatic to try a smaller, rechargeable version of the famous predecessor. At first glance, this wand vibrator appeared to carry much power. Its hefty handle and larger-sized head (for a mini wand massager) told me that this vibrator was no joke. I excitedly put it on the charger for 4 hours to get a full charge before first use!

Design

The design of the Magic Wand Mini is very similar to that of the notorious Magic Wand Original - but on a smaller, more compact scale. This toy is very sleek yet functional with a sturdy feel. It features a longer, more weighty handle than other mini wands, which may provide greater accessibility for folks who prefer reaching their vulva/clitoris from more of a distance, but potentially less accessibility for those who have hand/wrist/joint challenges. The wand's head is made of body-safe silicone which is soft to the touch and non-irritating. The colors of the toy are white and blue which I personally enjoy, as it is unlike many other vibrators which are designed with traditional gender-based colors like pink or purple.

Ease of Use

The Magic Wand Mini is very simple to use. The wand only has three vibration speeds and three buttons: power on/off, increase in vibration speed, and decrease in vibration speed. Whereas many other vibrators do not have a visual aid to illustrate the vibration speed one is at, the Magic Wand Mini has three blue lights which increase in size to indicate which speed you're currently at which can be useful during playtime. I also love that you don't have to cycle through the vibration speeds in order to get to the speed you'd like- you can simply press the + or - buttons. The length of the handle can be an assist during partnered play, as one can reach their genitals from various angles and positions. However, the handle is also more weighty which can pose an accessibility challenge folks with weaker grip strength.

Quality

The Magic Wand Mini appears to be very sturdy. It feels as though it is high quality and worth its price tag in terms of its durability. The wand's head is very soft and large enough to cover decent surface area. When powered on, the vibration is not too loud and the vibration speeds are adequate. However, for folks who prefer stronger vibration speeds or more vibration options, this vibrator may not be for you.

Price

For a more compact, less powerful version of the famous Original Magic Wand (which has a price tag of around $70-100), the cost of the Magic Wand Mini may seem overpriced. You can find the Magic Wand Mini for around $75 online, which makes sense when you account for the wand's compactness and wirelessness. However, for a vibrator with an average/borderline below-average intensity and minimal vibration options, I would say this wand is perhaps not worth its cost. I've had vibrators that have cost me around $30 with more power, vibration speeds, patterns and overall impactfulness than the Magic Wand Mini.

Performance

The Magic Wand Mini's vibration speeds are relatively low compared to other vibrators out there, despite its advertisement of having "big power". Even at its highest speed, it is not too impressive. However, the wand does hold a charge for a long while and has a flexible neck. When plugged in, the wand handle displays a bright red light which is easy to see, then switches to green when fully charged. Additionally, regardless of their power, the vibrations do feel good. Plus, even when you push hard on the wand's head during use, the vibration speed does not slow down much, which is an advantage over other wands.

Packaging

The Magic Wand Mini was delivered in discreet packaging and came in a simple cardboard box. The cardboard box featured an overview of the wand's advertised highlights on one side and a diagram of the toy on the other side. Inside the box, the vibrator was neatly packaged along with the wand's charger (non-USB), a small sample of water-based lubricant, and the instructions and user manual. I will say that the company could have gone without so much paper and plastic waste in their packaging — it's not very eco-friendly.

Materials and care

The handle of the wand is made of ABS plastic, and the wand's head is made of body-safe silicone, allowing for safe toy usage. One must be careful not to get the wand handle wet during cleaning, as the wand overall is not waterproof nor splashproof. The toy can easily be cleaned by wiping and then carefully rinsing the wand head with a soapy washcloth and warm water or using a sex toy cleaning product. This toy is easy to store, just be mindful to keep it in a cool and dry place. This product unfortunately does not come with a storage bag.
