The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug has a mystical aesthetic. Platinum-cured silicone coats the sleek, tapered shaft. It exhibits the most delicious matte black finish, contrasting the clear gem set in the base. The plastic gem resembles a rose-cut crystal, further contributing to the mystical presentation. Not to mention, the wearer looks positively enchanting with the crystal glistening between their cheeks. The small tip, tapered design, and silky texture help the 2.5" length and 4" girth glide smoothly into the anus.

Ease of Use

While insertion was a breeze, I can't say the same for keeping the plug in place. Additionally, the button requires significant force to activate power/mode changes. The lack of compression adds strain to the joints. Perhaps this is to prevent unwanted mode changes during penetration. However, it poses concerns for those with limited hand or finger dexterity. Lubrication augments the issue. A locking feature would have been a more inclusive solution. Offering a remote control or app compatibility could, also, increase accessibility to those with certain disabilities.

Quality

This plug feels extremely durable. The PinkCherry website advertises the It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug as being made of platinum-cured silicone. Platinum-cured silicone has a higher tensile strength than other silicones, is tear resistant, and yields no by-products. The motor produces powerful vibrations, all while emitting about as much sound as an electric toothbrush. As mentioned, these vibrations are slightly buzzy. The chemical odor does, however, pose quality concerns.

Price

At the time of writing this review, the PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug is on sale for $24.98. If I were to rate this plug on the sale price, it'd be worth every penny. However, it normally retails for $69.95. I'd consider $69.95 to be a steep price for a plug with no remote, no app, and no customizable features. To compare, the Satisfyer Plug-ilicious 1 and the Satisfyer Rotatator Plug 1 both retail for $69.95; they both include app-connectivity and customizable programs. Neither includes a gem, but I'd argue that a plastic gem doesn't equate the value of the aforementioned assets.

Performance

Oh, this plug performs. The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug arrived pre-charged. The vibrations outshined my expectations and performed just as well underwater. The 2-hours of battery life were enough to keep pace during marathon sessions. Whether one feels it's worth the 2-hour charging time is up to individual preference. As mentioned, the shape may result in the plug dislodging at times. More frustratingly, the button could take multiple firm presses to result in activation of the desired function. However, the most important thing is that the plug gets the job done.

Packaging

The packaging of this product consisted of flimsy cardboard and the sort of plastic one may expect to contain an action figure. Packaging aesthetics don't make or break an experience for me. However, the materials may be too flimsy to protect from moderate force during transit. Even my box arrived with a crushed corner, though the product remained undamaged. There was no manual, no directions, and no storage bag.  While a storage bag isn't a necessity, instructions should always be included. The box did, however, include a USB charger.

Materials and care

The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug is made from platinum-cured silicone and a plastic gem. As with all silicone toys, silicone lubricant should be avoided. Instead, opt for a water-based, anal lubricant. This gem is fully waterproof, so it can be enjoyed in the bathtub without concern. Cleanse with comfortably hot water and a sex toy cleanser before and after each use. Make sure to massage the soap over the contours and gem. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Store in a clean, dry place.
