Did I See Stars?

Design

The Pulse Galaxie feels natural and good to hold and stands out visually amongst my sex toys, but personally, I find the design in application falls short in a few areas. I enjoy the dark, shimmery purple of the toy's plastic body and the light, lilac color of the stimulator's nozzle. (The Galaxie comes in a black or purple palette). I like how the stimulator fits in the palm of my hand and the plastic body allows for a firm and comfortable grip. I love the power indicator light on the side of the toy's body. I also love the very silky silicone on the nozzle of the toy. However, I found the nozzle difficult to place in the correct position on my body in use. Finally, I found the one, raised button easy to push, though frustrating to cycle between level intensities and modes through this one button.

Ease of Use

Overall, I rate the Pulse Galaxie high on the ease of use scale. I really like the feel of the Galaxie in my hand: The ABS plastic has a little grip to the surface and the shape of the stimulator feels natural to hold. I did have difficulty keeping the stimulator in place and finding the right stimulating spot, but I think this is because I prefer stronger suction toys and the max power of the Galaxie feels like a medium on stronger toys. I do like the raised button to turn the stimulator on and off, though I found it cumbersome to switch between settings. What I love best about the Galaxie is the app. ability: The app is super easy to connect to the stimulator and the app is easeful to navigate and control. Lastly, the star projector's button is a little finicky to turn on, but it is just a simple tap to switch between the three star modes.

Quality

Overall, I'd rate the Pulse Galaxie has a high quality toy with a notable exception. The Galaxie is streamline and stands out amongst other toys as an abstract, electronic art piece when the toy is on its charging doc. The ABS plastic feels high quality, sturdy with a mild grip to the Galaxie's body, and the silicone of the nozzle feels like one of the highest grades of silicone with its thick, silky softness. In addition, the nozzle and the body of the toy feel well integrated into each other (where the nozzle and ABS plastic meet). The main notable exception to the Pulse Galaxie's quality is the star projector charging doc itself: Although the charging port is sturdy and well placed in the body of the doc, the stars that are projected when the device is turned on feel low quality. For a higher priced toy, I would have hoped to see more variety and color in the star projection ability.

Price

The Pulse Galaxie is on the pricer side of a suction type sex toy, and I feel the price may be worth the spending for some. The Galaxie has a gentle suction ability, is luxurious, and novel with the all-in-one stimulator-star projector. For those who love powerful sensations, however, the soft suction ability may be a deterrent; The star-projector quality and limited mode level feels only worth the price tag if the gentle suction will work for your body. Further, though the Galaxie markets itself as a new type of suction mechanism, I didn't notice a significant difference in suction feeling compared to my other stimulators. I did enjoy the hand feel of the stimulator, but I found the actual placement of the toy tricky, especially during partner play.

Performance

The Svakom Pulse Galaxie promises to create a suction effect resembling the feeling of oral sex through a customizable and convenient stimulator. I tend to enjoy stronger suction, so I found the softer, gentler sensations of the Galaxie not meeting my body's preferences. I do agree the Galaxie is a very customizable and convenient stimulator (not counting the fact you can't submerge the device in water): I love the SVAKOM app's multi-function abilities and the power indicator lights. In addition, the device never got hot when I used it, the battery life is 1 hour, and the charging takes only about two hours. Furthermore, though not the quietest powered sex toy I own, the Galaxie is a quiet toy compared to my other suction toys.

Packaging

The Pulse Galaxie is packaged in a paper box with pretty purple accents. The outer box shell covers a solid and sturdy inner box that can be used for storage; I find many sex toys I come across don't have a solid box, so I appreciated this feature. I have seen visual packaging presentations I have enjoyed more, but I still rank the Pulse Galaxie has higher on the packaging item given its inner box casing. Also, the Pulse Galaxie comes with a grey, well-built storage bag if you don't want to store the suction and starlight projector in the box itself.

Materials and care

The Pulse Galaxie is made of body-safe silicone and ABS (a type of plastic). The toy feels and looks high quality and its weight feels on the lighter side compared to my other stimulators; On my nightstand the Galaxie looks like a sleek, high tech electronic. To clean the Galaxie, you use a toy safe cleaner to clean the entirety of the toy. In addition, for cleaning the exterior surfaces of the stimulator and charging dock, you use a lint-free cloth and wipe, avoiding the light projector and charging points. I found I had difficulty remembering not to wash the toy along with my other vibrators, or setting the toy aside so my partner didn't wash the Galaxie either. I do appreciate the toy comes with a solid box and a draw string bag to allow for storage.

Special feature

The Pulse Galaxie has a built-in star light display: The charging doc of the toy is also a light star projector. When you take the stimulator off the charging doc, the projector can be turned on through a small, stars-shaped button on the doc’s side. You can press the button to cycle through the three modes of the purple stars: a steady star mode, a gently flashing star mode, and a fading in-and-out star mode. (To note, there is a warning on the box, in those who have a seizure disorder, the flashing lights can potentially trigger a seizure).
