Design

I am so obsessed with the look of this lube! The beautiful gold writing looks luxurious and expensive, against the black packaging, the whole design looks sexy and sleek. The compliments of the silver makes it look premium and exciting - often I find lube packaging can be boring or a bit sleazy, so seeing a lube that has an element of luxury really excites me! The white writing is also easy to read and looks good against the black. The pictures of the slated caramel and the salt is a subtle but fun touch, really making you believe this is 'sexual' salted caramel sauce!

Ease of Use

With this salted caramel lube being a water-based lube, it is very easy to wash off the hands and skin - just use some natural soap and hot water. Something that I noticed when I first saw the bottle, was the slight colour to the lube, which is like a light coloured slated caramel syrup colour. When the lube was on my skin, it was a light coloured brown - this was a slightly turn off for me as I would prefer a complete translucent lube, but it wasn't a deal breaker. It is compatible with all condom types and sex toy materials, which I loved as I love using silicone sex toys! One of the reasons I also always opt for water-based lubes is because they don't tend to get as tacky as silicone lubes, of which was the case with this product. Woohoo!

Quality

I am going to be honest, when I see flavoured lubes, I am sometimes a little nervous about whether or not they are safe to consume. System JO have a through testing program for the ingredients that they put in their products, as well as making sure they are FDA approved - I really appreciate knowing that it is safe to enter my body. The only unfortunate thing is that they don't put many instructions or advice on the bottle about how much is safe to consume. Me being me, I wont be eating much, simply as I don't want all that in my tummy! A lick or two off my partner will do thanks. I am also not very happy about there being glycerin in this lube - a sugar that often promotes bacterial growth in the vagina - and for someone who wants to use lube but doesn't want to deal with the consequences after, I will only be using this lube when I really want the benefits of the flavours. This isnt a deal breaker, as I wouldn't opt to use it for sex very often, only really for oral sex, but it's still something to think about.

Price

I understand that this is a flavoured lube that is compatible with all types of sex toys, and actually tasted like salted caramel, but heck is it expensive! For a bottle of water-based lube, this really is pushing the limits of your wallet. If you don't mind paying for it as a one off, then the bottle size seems like it is going to last a while, but as an every day lube, it is one of the most expensive I have seen!

Performance

This lube has a thick consistency that creates a layer on top of the skin, but it is certainly not the most thick, so I wouldn't recommend it for anal, as it will not be the most cushioning. I certainly would use it with a sex toy, to add more lubrication and make it more comfortable. System JO slated caramel lasted a good length of time, only sometimes needing reapplication, but then again, was that reapplication because it had dried out, or because my partner licked it all off?!

Compatibility

By now you should know how much of a fan I am of System JO packaging, I always have been, since my first bottle of lube. What makes it such a great bottle is the ease of use, even when you have lube on your hands. The bottle is easy to squeeze which is great for getting all of the product out the bottle. The lid is great as I don't need to spend ages trying to screw off a lid when my hands are slippery, as well as a small opening that makes it easy to direct the lube onto certain areas. Everything about the bottle design is a win from me!

Stain Test

As I said early, this lube has a slight colour to it and it not completely translucent. Therefore, once this found its way to my white bedsheets, it did leave a slight stain. Even if we used a towel, the same coloured stain was made, but it fully washed out in the washing machine and didn't leave a mark once it was dried. I highly recommend washing your sheets after having sex with lube anyway, but you can also buy some darker bed sheets.
