My Tango with the Tenga

While not my first time using a sleeve, this is my first review for a masturbation sleeve. The masturbation sleeve is not my first go-to for a sex toy; however, after reading reviews for the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve, I was intrigued enough to give it a whirl. Or a stroke. Or several. Upon receiving and unpackaging it, I was somewhat surprised by the size. My initial thoughts were, “That is small (short and narrow).” The sleeve is under six inches long, and the opening for insertion is narrower than my fingers, save my pinkies.

The Tango Gets Aggressive (as it should)

The Tango dance is known for being sexual and aggressive, and the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve follows suit. I had read in reviews that some users had experienced pain during use, and, not being one who enjoys pain coupled with sex, caused me to hesitate somewhat before agreeing to review the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve. From the Tenga website, regarding the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve: “…the detailed ribs of each step of the walls combine to provide two separate stimuli catering to those adherent to both hard and soft sensations.” I found those hard sensations at times to be slightly painful, especially when the inside would begin to dry up; something it had a tendency to do frequently. However, the pain was minimal; it wasn’t a severe pain – just enough to be slightly uncomfortable, but not overly so. I tend to shy away from pain – whether during sex, or otherwise, and the pain from the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve didn’t send me packing, so most people shouldn’t be bothered by it. And otherwise, those spirals felt amazing as I stroked them up and down my penis.

Every Dance Must End – Even the Best Tango

As I stated, I was surprised by how small the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve was when I first unpackaged it. However, I quickly realized that its small size was not an issue, as it easily stretched to allow me inside. According to the Tenga website, it will stretch to accommodate a penis of up to 9.80” in length, and up to 3.15” in width. After some experimenting, I found that holding it in the middle and gently squeezing made for some amazing sensations. The Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve did become dry frequently, and would require more lube (water-based only). This would occur every 5-10 minutes, and more often it seemed to be the former more so than the latter. For the sake of transparency, when I am using a sex toy such as the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve, it is a long session during which I watch porn and take my time, which is at least part of the reason for needing to reapply lube often. A session normally will last at least an hour; however, needing to reapply lube after 5-10 minutes (more often five) seems to be excessive, at least compared to some of the other masturbator strokers I’ve used. I needed to reapply lube to the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve more often than any other masturbator I’ve used. At the end of my session, I sped up and orgasmed; however, my orgasm with the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve was not as strong as with many other toys I’ve used. When reviewing a product, the strength of the orgasms it gives me goes a long way in the final overall score I give it, as well as whether I can achieve multiple orgasms with it within that one session. With the Tenga 3D Spiral Masturbation Sleeve, my orgasm wasn’t the toe-curling, mind-numbing ones that some toys have given me, nor was I able to have 2-3 back-to-back orgasms like I can with some toys.
